Conference on the Aggregation of distributed energy resources. Obstacles and recommendations for a complete development of the market
The ACCO organizes a day on the Aggregation of distributed energy resources.
In the framework of the promotion of competition, ACCO considered it appropriate to organize a day on the aggregation of distributed energy resources and the obstacles and recommendations for a complete development of the market. In 2017, the ACCO commissioned Dr. Pep Salas, a study on the difficulties of accessing the information compiled by the digital electricity meters of the residential sector, warns that it could be a halt to the appearance of new economic initiatives that need this data.
By continuing to that work, we invite you to the presentation of the new study commissioned by the ACCO and prepared by Dr. Pep Salas, in collaboration with Alicia Carrasco, on the aggregation of distributed energy resources.
In order to make the energy transition possible towards a society with low carbon emissions, centralized renewable energies compete with decentralized ones, such as self-consumption. The study focuses on those key aspects to open and to develop the market of distributed energy resources and their aggregation (renewable energy, storage and demand management) in equal conditions to other technologies. As the European Union considers in the new energy legislative package (Clean Energy for All Europeans, currently under discussion), the aggregation (either by an independent agent or as the evolution of the electricity marketer) is a key aspect so that the consumer can access the electricity markets, achieve a more competitive price of energy and contribute to the security of supply.
